Welding Workshop

The Welding Workshop opened in 2002, in partnership with HSB. The Welding Workshop or ‘Atelier de Soudure’ is staffed solely by people living with a disability.

The workshop aims to create mobility aids to enable disabled people to be as independent as possible, limiting the impact of reduced mobility on their lives.

“A wheelchair is not just a chair with wheels”

The Welding Workshop believes in the importance of adapting each wheelchair to its user and that the user should be as involved as possible in the design and manufacturing process.

The workshop produces four main types of wheelchair: sports, hospital, active and semi-active, as well as tricycles, handibikes, and adapted motorised scooters.

In these and many other ways, the partnership between the Welding Workshop and HSB supports people living with disabilities to become full and active members of their community.
